Bike trail update - July 2, 2024

The State has issued the final permit needed for the half mile portion of the bike trail that will go through the state forest. The next item will be a pre-construction meeting with the contractor, Pitlik & Wick. It is hoped that construction can begin in mid-July.

To date we have raised the sum of $357,539. Our goal is to raise $425,000, so we still need to raise $67,461. Everyone has been very generous. If it is possible for you to add on to your previous giving, that would be greatly appreciated. Please also contact anyone you know who might be interested in contributing to the bike trail. The bike trail committee feels confident it will be able to raise the additional monies so that trail building can begin this year. We will update you after the pre-construction meeting with a tentative completion date for the trail.

Thank you for your generous donations in the past and for your continued support for the bike trail extension.

Pickleball ProjectFundraising Efforts are Now Underway!

  • Eight (8) Pickleball courts will be built next to the Town Hall and the Youth Center.
  • The Town has donated the land and will ultimately own the courts.
  • This is a community-based project for the benefit of all who live here or come to vacation and enjoy our community.
  • The cost of the project will be funded primarily through private donations. Over half of the budgeted costs have already been pledged through these donations!
  • A local group is managing this project and they are working tirelessly to raise the remaining pledges before the end of this year.
  • The non-profit MW Alliance Foundation is assisting the MW Pickleball Project team by making ONLINE DONATIONS (by credit card) available through the Alliance website.
  • If you prefer to send a check, make payable to: Town of Manitowish Waters and mail to: MW Pickleball Project, PO BOX 267, Manitowish Waters, WI 54545.
