Northwoods EMS District Monthly Reports
Northwoods Emergency Medical Services District (NEMSD) is a full-time Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service established in 2024. We proudly serve the communities of Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, Presque Isle, and Winchester, covering an area of approximately 250 square miles. Our dedicated team responds to around 500 calls annually, ensuring prompt and professional medical assistance. NEMSD is staffed by a committed group of full-time, part-time, and volunteer personnel, all working together to provide exceptional emergency care to our region.
In July of 2024, the state of WI approved the license and operational plan for NEMSD at a paramedic level with a 1 year phase in period. this project has been in the works for over 2.5 years and we are extremely excited to be able to provide advanced level care to the 4 towns.
